Jelle is a consultant and researcher specializing in cyber risk, operational resilience and crisis management. He is also co-owner of 3rdRisk, a third-party risk management tech startup developed and hosted in the Netherlands.

With over a decade of experience, Jelle likes to bring the most recent advances in cyber risk, resilience and crisis management to his clients and is committed to evidence-based principles and methods.

Jelle combines a solid academic background with relevant experience as a management consultant and several (cyber)resilience positions within the financial industry. He studied Policy, Communication and Organization at the VU University Amsterdam and obtained a Ph.D. in Management Sciences at the Radboud University Nijmegen.

Jelle also studies (cyber) risk and resilience topics. He published more than 50 scientific articles and books. As research director (lector), he was responsible for the cyber risk research program of The Hague University of Applied Sciences. He is currently connected as a senior associate researcher to Crisislab - the risk and crisis management research group associated with the Radboud University Nijmegen.

Jelle worked for (amongst others) Liberty Global, ING Bank, ABN Amro, Philips, Rijkswaterstaat, Fire Service Amsterdam, Fire Service Antwerpen, Port of Rotterdam, Port of Amsterdam, Dutch National Police, Instituut Fysieke Veiligheid, and several ministries, safety regions, and municipalities in the Netherlands.
